The Future Tense


THE FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE:


  Like other continuous tenses it is normally used with a point in time, and expresses an action which starts before that time & probably continuous after it.

_ Now we are attending an English class with Ms X.

_ At this time tomorrow we will be attending an Arabic class with Mr Y.


------> These examples show that when a present Continuous is used for a situation referring to NOW, a future continuous is used for the same situation referring to the future.


_ It will probably be raining when we reach England.

_ When i get back home tonight, they will be having supper.

_ Also be used with a verb  in a simple tense.


-------> These examples show that the future simple continuous is used to indicate an action that WILL


_ HAVE STARTED BEFORE a future event takes place & will STILL BE GOING ON when these vent takes place.


_ IT WILL HAVE STARTED RAINING BEFORE I REACH ENGLAND AND IT WILL STILL BE RAINING WHEN I REACH ENGLAND.




Future continuous usually used to express future without INTENTION:


_ I WILL BE HELPING MARY TOMORROW


 -----> This examples does not imply that the speakers has arranged  to help Mary or WISHES to help her. 

IT MERELY STATS THAT THIS ACTION WILL HAPPEN ( It is not intentional. It is a mere statement of fact ).


_ The future continuous does not imply a deliberate future action ( As the Present Continuous does ) but it implies an action which will occur in the normal cause of events.


THE FUTURE PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE:


_ Now WE HAVE BEEN  STUDYING English for over three years.

_ This time last year, WE HAD BEEN STUDYING English for over four years.


The future perfect continuous instead of the future perfect simple when the action is continuous.


The future perfect continuous is not used when the number of things or the number of times the action performed is mentioned.


+EXAMPLES:


- By next June WE SHALL HAVE LEARNT 10 different subjects in English.

- By next June WE SHALL HAVE BEEN LEARNING English for 4 years.


NOTE :

The future perfect continuous is not very frequently used. It is avoided whenever it is possible because it is very long heavy.


_ Now She HAVE BEEN  STUDYING English for over Two years.


_ This time last year, I HAD BEEN STUDYING English for over three years.


The Future Perfect continuous instead the Future Perfect Simple when the action is continuous.


The Future Perfect Continuous is not utilized when the number of things or times the action performed is mentioned.


+EXAMPLES:

- By next April WE SHALL HAVE LEARNT 10 different subjects in English.

- By next April WE SHALL HAVE BEEN LEARNING English for 4 years.


NOTE :

The Future Perfect Continuous is not very frequently utilized. It is evaded whenever it is possible because it is very long heavy.
